PreDiabetes Centers Launches Two New Supplements at The PreD Store

Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 14, 2014

PreDiabetes Centers, the country’s top authority on prediabetes testing and treatment, adds two more targeted supplements to the PreDiabetes Essentials line of nutraceuticals at The PreD Store, an online healthy-living shop.

PreD Vitamin B12 and PreD Adrenal Base, now available at, can help prevent nutrient deficiencies that are common in people with prediabetes, the condition that occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet high enough for a diabetes diagnosis.

A vitamin B12 deficiency is common among Americans. If left untreated, the condition can hurt immune system function and damage nerve cells.

“Vitamin B12 is typically low in prediabetes patients,” says Dr. Alan Hopkins, medical director of PreDiabetes Centers. “It’s important to replace vitamin B12 because it’s critical for fat and carbohydrate metabolism,” a process that plays an important role in the prevention of diabetes and treatment of prediabetes, he says.

Getting an adequate amount of vitamin B12 will not only help boost energy levels, it can help balance levels of the amino acid homocysteine, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease, a related condition of diabetes.

PreD Vitamin B12 is available in capsules containing 1,000mcg of vitamin B12.

PreDiabetes Centers also now offers PreD Adrenal Base, a combination supplement that supports adrenal gland function and helps promote healthy stress management.

“Many prediabetes patients have levels of cortisol that are either too high or too low,” says Hopkins.

When cortisol levels are high, it raises blood sugar–increasing risk for diabetes–and can deplete the adrenal glands. When cortisol levels are too low, a person can develop fatigue and low blood pressure.

PreD Adrenal Base includes vitamin C, B vitamins, riboflavin, biotin, zinc, copper, chromium and many other important nutrients.

The PreDiabetes Essentials nutraceutical line includes several dietary supplements that promote good nutrition and optimal health for people with prediabetes. The store is accessible to clients enrolled in the PreDiabetesCenters 12-month prediabetes treatment program as well as to the general public.

For a limited time, online shoppers at The PreD Store will receive $20 off orders of $100 or more, plus free shipping.

People who feel they may be at risk for diabetes can take an online Diabetes Risk Survey, or call 1-855-399-7733 to schedule a complimentary blood test at a local PreDiabetes Center.
