Pradaxa Lawsuits Move Forward, as Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Issuance of New Case Management Order in Federal Pradaxa Bleeding Litigation

Pradaxa lawsuits (http://www.pradaxalawsuithelp.com/) filed on behalf of patients who suffered serious and life-threatening episodes of internal bleeding while taking the blood thinner are moving forward in the federal multidistrict litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois. According to a Case Management Order issued by the Court on September 7, 2013, a Special Master has been appointed to mediate any disputes that may occur in the course of discovery. The Order also sets forth protocols for the mediation of such disputes. (In Re: Pradaxa (Dabigatran Etexilate) Products Liability Litigation – MDL No. 2385)

“Alleged victims of Pradaxa bleeding contact our Firm on a regular basis. We are pleased to see this litigation moving forward,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is now evaluating Pradaxa side effect lawsuits on behalf of patients who suffered serious internal bleeding while using this blood thinner.

Pradaxa Bleeding Lawsuits
According to court documents, 1,488 Pradaxa side effect claims have been filed in the Southern District of Illinois on behalf of alleged victims of Pradaxa bleeding. The lawsuits filed in the litigation accuse Boehringer Ingelheim of marketing Pradaxa even though it was aware that the drug could cause dangerous and potentially fatal hemorrhaging in some patients. Plaintiffs further allege that the company failed to provide adequate warnings regarding the lack of a readily available antidote to reverse the bleeding that can sometimes occur with Pradaxa.
