This study appears in the December 2009 issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

By The Numbers:
- According to this study, 66% of respondents chose implant-based reconstruction, 25% chose autologous reconstruction, and 9% chose no reconstruction.
- Nearly 80,000 breast reconstruction procedures were performed in 2008, according to ASPS statistics.
