Plastic Oddities® Announces New Product on Kickstarter – the Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™
Date:5/10/2013

Forest City, NC (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

“Plastic Oddities® was founded on and has always provided innovative products that solve problems for plumbers,” stated Kent Covington, President and CEO of the company, “and the new Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™ that we are introducing today will continue in that tradition.” Plastic Oddities is currently a leader in the plumbing drain products industry, with distributing in thousands of plumbing supply houses across the United States. Since the Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™ represents a step forward into the line of hand tools for plumbers, Plastic Oddities® decided to introduce the tool on Kickstarter.com, a site that will allow the plumbing industry to weigh in on the finalization of the new product. The Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™ can be found online at http://www.PlugPuller.com.

The new Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™ does exactly what the name says it should: it enables a plumber to open cleanout plugs. What sets the tool apart, however, are two things:

First, the tool encapsulates the cleanout fitting, allowing a plumber to open a cleanout plug when there is fluid backed up behind it. The tool controls the fluid and allows it to be directed out through a 2” opening that can use piping, a bucket, or even a ball valve to help control the fluid.

Second, the tool comes with a set of custom designed ¾” sockets. These sockets will fit any standard ¾” ratcheting wrench (or a ½” wrench with an adapter), and are designed to fit the vast majority of cleanout plug styles that a plumber may encounter. Each of the custom sockets also has an integrated “set screw” that allows the plumber to securely lock them into place on the cleanout plug. This feature prevents cleanout plugs from “rounding out” while the plumber is opening them. Many of the plumbers who have had an opportunity to review the new tool have said the custom set of sockets would, alone, make the tool worth the investment.

Plastic Oddities® released a video along with the Kickstarter project that explains the project and gives a demonstration of the tool in action.

“The advantage to this tool is it helps me protect the property of my customers,” stated Randall Schneider, a service plumber in North Carolina who had an opportunity to review the tool and actually use it on the job. “[The Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™] gives me a more professional way of handling things that wasn’t available previously. It’s a new tool, it’s very sturdy, and it keeps me from having to chisel [the cleanout plug] out with a hammer and chisel… and you plumbers know what I’m talking about.”

The Kickstarter project will only be open for one month, after which time the Cleanout Plug Puller Tool™ will be available to the public through plumbing supply house distributors nationwide.
