Physician Demand for Integrated Communication Platform Drives DocbookMD Growth

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) July 31, 2014

DocbookMD, a HIPAA-secure mobile communication solution created by Austin-based physicians Tracey Haas and Tim Gueramy, announced the on-boarding of six new hospital and group customers for Docbook Enterprise.

According to Dr. Tim Gueramy, CEO of DocbookMD, most of the new healthcare organizations selected their solution because physician leaders from each one had been using the medical society version of DocbookMD and saw a huge benefit for their respective organizations to adopt the HIPAA-secure communication platform. “We have always offered a free version of DocbookMD through state and county medical societies, so it’s no surprise that we have seen a surge in interest in our Enterprise version, led by physician leaders,” Gueramy says. “We have learned that what hospitals and groups need is not a communication system between its own physicians and care teams but one that opens them up, safely and securely, to a larger community of healthcare resources and services like radiology and labs, particularly if they participate in an ACO.”

In addition to offering a robust medical directory with secure messaging for physicians, DocbookMD launched its Enterprise communication platform to address the workflow requirements of physicians and the entire healthcare team. “A big reason why our customers choose Docbook Enterprise over other solutions is because of its plug-and-play ability to connect our physicians and care teams to other 3rd party services like radiology and labs,” said Dr. Tracey Haas, CMO of DocbookMD. “We are able to customize connections to speed up information flow across healthcare organizations like ACOs, hospital systems and even emergency response teams in the wake of natural disasters.”

According to a 2013 study by the Ponemon Institute, one of the biggest bottlenecks in the delivery of patient care is poor communication due to the use of disconnected or antiquated technology. “The ability to receive time-sensitive updates like radiology and lab reports directly to a physician’s mobile device can speed patient care by as much as 10 times, allowing the physician to make more informed decisions for an all-round better patient outcome,” said Haas.
