Dr. Leonard P. Berenholz, who invented an ear surgery procedure, will be admitted to the Trilogic Society on May 29, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona during the organization's annual meeting. Berenholz's thesis is entitled "Total Ossiculoplasty - The advantages of a two point stabilization".

Warren, OH (PRWEB) May 13, 2009 -- The Lippy Group is proud to announce that Dr. Leonard P. Berenholz, who invented an ear surgery procedure, will be admitted to the Trilogic Society on May 29, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona during the organization's annual meeting.

"This is a tremendous achievement for Dr. Berenholz. Only a small percentage of applicants to the society are accepted," noted colleague and partner, Dr. William H. Lippy. "Admission to the Trilogic Society is the most prestigious ear, nose and throat society in the world. It requires a thesis submission, which is reviewed by a peer review panel of seven physicians."

Dr. Berenholz is a partner in The Lippy Group, which has 45 employees including three full time physicians, located in Warren, Ohio.

Dr. Berenholz's thesis is entitled "Total Ossiculoplasty - The advantages of a two point stabilization". This procedure is done when all three bones of the middle ear are missing. Either they were destroyed by chronic disease, or by previous unsuccessful surgery.

A small percentage of people have this as a congenital condition. Dr. Berenholz's surgical results in a large series of cases performed when using his method of replacement were better than ever previously obtained. All of his revision surgeries were performed on patients who had one or more unsuccessful previous operations and in all of the cases the three bones in the middle ear were missing.

Dr. Berenholz's other recent medical contribution is the BAHA procedure which is done for people that are totally deaf in one
