Three Weeks Remain for Consumers to Join Oil Change Pioneer in Bid to Raise $1.5 Million

HOUSTON , Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Jiffy Lube announces that it's on course to reach its goal of raising $1.5 million through the Maintenance Partners for Life campaign, which supports the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement. Heart disease is the number one killer of women and men in the United States, with nearly 2,400 Americans dying of the disease per day. Jiffy Lube wants to remind customers that there is still time to join the fight against heart disease by visiting a participating Jiffy Lube service center through March 16.

Through the generous support of its customers, Jiffy Lube has already raised $754,584 and distributed more than 245,000 Maintenance Partners for Life savings books as of February 22. The company kicked off year two of the campaign on January 28, but customers can still make donations at more than 1,700 participating Jiffy Lube service centers through March 16.

During the first few weeks of the campaign, several cities have stood out in their fundraising efforts. The top cities in terms of percentage of Jiffy Lube customers making a donation include: Santa Barbara, CA; Yakima, WA; Helena, MT; Butte, MT; and Spokane, WA. The top cities in terms of overall donations made are: Chicago, IL; Santa Barbara, CA; Washington, DC; Sacramento, CA; and Los Angeles, CA.

"As someone living with heart disease, I know that it's important to be vigilant about protecting your heart by taking the proper precautions," said Courtney Caldwell, editor-in-chief of Road and Travel magazine. "When you think about it, both our vehicles and hearts need preventive maintenance to keep them running properly -- it's much better than waiting for something to happen that requires a major intervention. I encourage people to support the Jiffy Lube Maintenance Partners for Life campaign because almost everyone knows someone with the disease."

Customers who make a $3 donation will receive a Maintenance Partners for Life savings book with more than $100 in savings from Jiffy Lube, Perfumania and Yankee Candle, and heart-healthy recipes and lifestyle tips. Funds will be donated to local American Heart Association chapters in the communities in which they are raised. In addition, for each Jiffy Lube Gift Card(SM) purchased during the campaign, Jiffy Lube will donate $1 to Go Red For Women.
