University Heights,OH (PRWEB) July 31, 2013

The announcement this month of filters for large screen TV (up to 58” diagonal).means many more people will be able to sleep well. Recent studies at the University of Besel (1) have shown that exposing the eyes to light, especially blue light, during the hours before bedtime can suppress the production of melatonin by the pineal gland. Reduced Cancer!” Modern electronic devices produce a larger fraction of blue light than the earlier light sources according to Dr. Hansler. This means that by bedtime they will have a large supply of melatonin in their bloodstream. This makes it easy to fall asleep quickly and deep, restorative sleep will be reached more quickly and persist for a longer time. This has been demonstrated in studies at Harvard (2) and at the University of Basel (1). Actually, what was measured was the delay in these sleeps parameters as a result of exposure to the blue rays coming from ordinary household lamps.

For those who don’t like wearing amber glasses in the evening, there are light bulbs that don’t make blue light. Their use, combined with the use of filters for TV and computer screens, including iPads and iPhones solves the problem. This is a more realistic plan, now that the large screen filters are available. To order filters for large screens all that is needed is to measure the height and width of the screen and
