Philanthropist Mark Jenney Donates to Local Benefit
Date:12/23/2009

Akron-based philanthropist Mark Jenney makes donation to The Chuck Sandstrom Benefit Fund.

Akron, OH (PRWEB) December 23, 2009 -- Mark Jenney, an Akron-area philanthropist, made a donation to The Chuck Sandstrom Benefit Fund this week.

The Fund was set up to raise money to cover the hospital expenses of Chuck Sandstrom, the former Executive Director of the Barberton Community Foundation, who was assaulted on July 1, 2009 an received a severe head injury while tending an Akron rental.

A loving husband, father, and friend, Chuck is progressing from a coma toward a new life. His anticipated out-of-pocket expenses through July 2010 are estimated to be $17,560.

“This story is close to my heart,” said Jenney. “I grew up in the area and I feel a strong connection with the people who live here. My thoughts go out to Chuck and his family, and I wish him all the best.”

All donations will help Chuck’s family cover the medical costs that are not covered by his insurance, which include adult day care, cognitive and speech therapy, strength training, massage therapy, and tooth implant and restoration. The Chuck Sandstrom Benefit Fund has raised more than $9,000 for their cause so far.

Chuck’s family and friends have set up a blog to detail the progress of his recovery at chuckscircleoflove.blogspot.com.
