-Area ranks low among the worst in National Clean Hands Week survey-
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Based on results of the National Clean Hands Coalition's "Cleanest Hands in America" survey, residents of the Philadelphia area were found to exhibit some of the worst hand hygiene practices of individuals living in the U.S. top 25 designated market areas (DMA) ... and thus have been ranked #23 ... one above Portland, OR #24 and two atop Denver, CO ... completing the list at #25. Miami, Florida was proclaimed to have the "Cleanest Hands in America" with a 49 percent positive of survey participants.
The survey findings come on the "heels" of the launch of Word-Out! Awareness Foundation's Public Service "Reminder" Campaign ... You Gotta Wash Your Hands! The foundations' co-founder Ira Tucker JR, seeks collective support: "We launched this campaign to inform and to remind Philadelphians to practice hand hygiene and to be cognizant of Clean HANDS Week, in Philadelphia 9/17-9/23, and, we sincerely hope all responsible local media, business and corporate interests will lend a hand in support and help us, to get the word out! now, that's in everyone's best interest."
