Philadelphia Insurance Companies Believes in 'Giving Back through Fitness'

Running in the Rain for CHOP

BALA CYNWYD, Pa., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Philadelphia Insurance Companies (Nasdaq: PHLY), Bala Cynwyd, PA, sponsored the 2008 Parkway Run/Walk benefiting The Cancer Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation's premier pediatric oncology program. Despite the rain, more than 1,500 runners & walkers (including 50 PHLY employees and their family members) participated in the event. Following the 5k run, PHLY employees presented the check for $65,000 to Dr. John Maris MD, Director of Hematology/Oncology at CHOP.

Commenting on PHLY's commitment to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, President & CEO James J.
