Date:5/1/2013

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) May 01, 2013

PharmaSmart® International Inc., a member of the exclusive Inc. 5000 list and Rochester, NY Top 100 announced today that it has deployed it’s clinically validated & peer reviewed blood pressure screening program inside all Kinney Drugs stores. This new weapon in the fight against hypertension has now arrived throughout Upstate New York and Vermont.

The new kiosks and interoperable Health IT solutions are manufactured and distributed by PharmaSmart® International. This rollout marks a major milestone for PharmaSmart® as they recently relocated into a brand new state of the art 53,000 sq. ft. facility in Rochester, NY. Kinney Drugs represents the first major launch from the new global headquarters.

“In this era of personalized medicine, the role of the pharmacist continues to expand as a health care provider,” said Mike Duteau, Vice President of Pharmacy Operations at Kinney Drugs. “The PharmaSmart® kiosk technology is a valuable new frontline tool to assist our patients and pharmacists with their efforts to maintain healthy blood pressure and prevent heart disease and strokes.”

PharmaSmart® Chief Operations Officer, Ashton Maaraba states, “Our partnership with Kinney Drugs delivers proof that the traditional drug store can deliver innovative services to address the challenge of chronic disease and spiraling healthcare costs. We are thrilled to be working with Kinney as they promote traditional core values and demonstrate outstanding execution for top-line pharmacy services.” Maaraba adds, “In 2012, a staggering 70 million Americans did not have their blood pressure controlled. Pharmacy chains, like Kinney Drugs and Bartell Drugs, have partnered with PharmaSmart® to address this chronic issue.”
