NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Denise Kehoe has joined medication therapy management (MTM) company PharmMD as vice president of business development. In her new role, she will manage and oversee the expansion of the company's growing base of clients across the country.
Kehoe brings more than 15 years of clinical pharmacy, research and operations experience to PharmMD. PharmMD prevents medication-related health problems through the application of the best pharmacist and physician knowledge. The company works with employers and payers to help ensure that beneficiaries are receiving the most appropriate medications. Founded in 2006, PharmMD improves coordination and communication among physicians, pharmacists, payers and patients by analyzing pharmacy and medical claims information and clinical decision making. Because PharmMD focuses exclusively on MTM, the company is able to analyze both aggregate and patient-specific data to identify trends and conflicts to positively impact patient health and contain costs.
Kehoe is active in the leadership of several influential trade organizations. She participated on an American Pharmacists Association (APhA) strategic planning committee and is currently serving a two-year term as chair of specialized pharmacy for the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice Management. She received APhA fellowship honors in 2007. Kehoe is also currently serving on the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Community Pharmacy Outreach Task Force. Kehoe also served as the president of the New Mexico Pharmacists Association where she was instrumental in implementing policies expanding the clinical practice role of pharmacists. Kehoe actively participates with collaborative healthcare initiatives promoting pharmacists as the medication experts.
"With her expert understanding of the clinical and operational delivery of pharmaceutical services and her passion for improving the health of individual patients, Denise will help develop and expand the customizable, personalized MTM services offered by PharmMD on a national level," said Bo Bartholomew, co- founder and chief executive officer of PharmMD.
