"We are delighted to be able to support the Morris Animal Foundation in their efforts to combat cancer in dogs," states Graeme Radcliff, founder of PetScreen. "Having suffered the loss of three of our family's precious dogs to cancer, PetScreen represents the culmination of a personal battle for me and my wife, Eileen, to help fight this disease, which is all too prevalent in the canine world." Mr. Radcliff says the donation was made in the name of his family's three current dogs: Libbi -- chocolate Labrador, Saskia -- German shepherd and Hugo -- Irish water spaniel. See PetScreen photos

Dr. Kevin Slater, chief executive of PetScreen, comments on the company's canine cancer efforts. "Having developed a screening test for canine lymphoma, we are now working hard to refine its application to the benefit of dogs, owners and their veterinarians," says Dr. Slater. "Over the last couple of years, we have learned a great deal about applying new technology to improve pet health. Every day we are striving to learn more. This knowledge is helping us refine and provide a range of advanced tests for cancer and other diseases plaguing pets around the world."

"Morris Animal Foundation greatly appreciates PetScreen's donation to help us address the leading cause of death in dogs over the age of 2, says Dr. Patricia Olson, president and CEO of MAF. "We hope other companies in the U.S., the U.K. and around the world will step up and help us fund this valuable research."

Dr. Olson adds that the very same cancer research breakthroughs benefiting dogs are having direct benefit to humans suffering from cancer. "Here again, the dog is proving itself to be man's best friend," comments Dr. Olson.
