HONG KONG, June 15 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Wan (Corporate Services) Ltd., the sole agent of Perrier in Hong Kong and Macau is making the following statement to clarify the NITRITE level of Perrier.

                      Perrier Refutes Consumer Council Findings

We would contest and refute the test result published by Consumer Council as reported in the CHOICE magazine dated on June 15, 2009.

    The Nitrite level of Perrier is 0.40 mg/L. -- per Consumer Council
    Our French test results showed 0.05 mg/L
    The EU standard re Nitrite is 0.1 mg/L and
    The USA standard re Nitrite is 3.3 mg/L

Per the Consumer Council "Data Sheet for Confirmation" and the attached detailed supporting of "analytical Results" --- NO2 is said to be 0.12 mg/L.

We responded to Consumer Council on May 18, 2009 and informed them that the tests results is 0.05 mg/L (both from French factory and the French Health Authorities), which is well within the EU standards.

We are in contact with the Consumer Council in an effort to clarify this matter. As the possibility of a mistake and/or misunderstanding is great, and the health risk to our consumers is practically non-existent, there is no need to recall Perrier.

As stated by the Consumer Council, 10 Liters of Perrier per day (or 30 bottles of Perrier 330 mL per day) may have an impact on the consumer re Nitrite.

Perrier is definitely safe for consumption. Consumer health and product safety is the top priority and we assure all customers and consumers that Perrier is safe and fit for consumption

    We will do more lab tests in Hong Kong and in France and would expect test
results within l week.
