Perot Systems Implementing NextGen(R) Suite of Integrated Electronic

Medical Records and Practice Management Applications

PLANO, Texas, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) and Oakwood Healthcare announced their newly implemented revenue cycle solutions and integrated electronic medical records program are delivering significant, positive results. After only 120 days, Perot Systems has increased Oakwood's revenue cycle performance, and produced significant improvements in operational performance and cash collections.

"Oakwood has achieved a level of quality and performance that we are extremely proud of, and the support that the Perot Systems team has provided is very substantial," said Malcolm Henoch, MD, chief medical officer, Oakwood Healthcare, Inc. "Perot Systems understands healthcare, and they have the ability to bring us the best in technology to enhance service for our patients. NextGen(R) is a demonstrated leader in the ambulatory IT marketplace, and we're pleased to deploy their solutions for our physician practices."

"Our relationship with Oakwood is all about patient and physician satisfaction, and we are pleased that Oakwood has entrusted Perot Systems to deliver revenue cycle solutions as well as the advanced technology they can use to improve both operational and financial performance," said Chuck Lyles, president of Perot Systems' healthcare industry group.

Perot Systems is implementing the NextGen(R) suite of ambulatory electronic medical records (EMR) and enterprise practice management (EPM) applications for Oakwood Healthcare's physician groups. Reducing errors as well as decreasing transcription costs are key benefits to the implementation of technology that allows providers to electronically document patient encounters at the point of care.

Oakwood Healthcare owns and operates 38 primary care and specialty physician practices in the Dearborn and western Wayne county Michigan area as well as four acute care hospitals representing 1,307 beds. Perot Systems will apply NextGen EPM to enhance collections and reduce accounts receivable days, and automate registration, scheduling, billing and reporting functions for the 90-physician group.

Perot Systems is a recognized leader in the healthcare industry and is known for its innovative approach to helping providers like Oakwood execute strategic transformational initiatives to enhance patient care. Today, the company serves more than 1000 hospitals with information technology, clinical transformation and financial optimization solutions.
