Latest Consumer Liaison Newsletter Addresses the Senior Community

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --- Older Pennsylvanians who need fast and accurate information about insurance will now be able to find it with a click of their mouse.

Acting Insurance Commissioner Joel Ario announced today that the Insurance Department has created a new Web page that is dedicated specifically to the changing needs of older Pennsylvanians.

"Policyholders' insurance needs are constantly evolving, and that is especially true for older consumers," Ario said. "That's why we've developed a one-stop, online resource for seniors that offers helpful brochures, consumer alerts and links to other useful Web sites and online services."

The new Web page can be accessed by logging onto http://www.ins.state.pa.us and choosing "Older Pennsylvanians" on the right-hand navigation bar.

"We want this Web page to be a place where not only older adults can turn for information, but where caregivers and family members can also find answers to questions they may have," Ario said. "With so many changes taking place in the world of prescription drugs, long-term care insurance and a host of other aging issues, I encourage consumers to regularly visit the Web page for important updates."

Ario also urged consumers to visit the Insurance Department's booth at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, which runs Jan. 5-12 at the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. For more information, visit http://www.agriculture.state.pa.us/farmshow.

The current edition of the Insurance Department's Consumer News You Can Use, the Office of Consumer Liaison's quarterly newsletter, is dedicated to issues that are important to older Pennsylvanians.
