S provides thousands of dollars per year in incentives for physicians who prescribe electronically, who use an Electronic Health Record certified by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT), and who can demonstrate that the EHR has improved the health of their patients.

To quickly begin e-prescribing, Pee Dee Cardiology will immediately implement Allscripts ePrescribe, the free stand-alone, Web-based version of the company's market-leading electronic prescribing technology. Once the Electronic Health Record is fully implemented, Allscripts will transfer all patient data from Allscripts ePrescribe into the EHR and Pee Dee physicians will begin using the EHR's integrated e-prescribing module, which uses the same engine.
