Partnering With MyPyramid: NUTRIKIDS Accepts the Challenge to Help Families Step Up to Healthier Living

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Early this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) invited companies from the food and consumer electronic industries to join the Partnering with MyPyramid Corporate Challenge - to develop projects to help families make nutritious food choices.

Consistent with the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA's MyPyramid, LunchByte Systems, Inc.'s latest solutions will help connect families with good nutrition and physical activity at home on their very own computers. By Partnering with MyPyramid, the company is joining the USDA's efforts to help families live healthier lives.

LunchByte Systems, Inc. has been in the business of providing food service management solutions to schools for over eighteen years. The company's products include NUTRIKIDS(R) Menu Planning and Nutritional Analysis software, Point of Sale solutions and other back-of-the-house solutions. NUTRIKIDS is installed in over 8,000 school districts across the country.

LunchByte Systems, Inc. is offering their school district customers online nutrition and wellness education, and an interactive tool for parents and children to preview and plan school meals online. These two new products are called MyTray and MyNutrition which reside on the company's new website, http://www.MyNutrikids.com.

MyTray is an interactive planning tool that interfaces with the school district's NUTRIKIDS Menu Planning and Nutritional Analysis Program. With MyTray, parents and children go online to preview and pre-plan school meals based on what is served in the school cafeteria. Users can view menu choices, plan trays and see the nutritional quality of their choices. The goal of MyTray is to make nutrition education come to life by helping children connect what they learn to what they choose to eat at school.
