Singapore-based cancer centre launches series of educational webinars and presence on Twitter

Singapore (PRWEB) October 16, 2009 -- Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC), Singapore's leading private cancer centre, has today announced the launch of its 'Understanding Cancer' Webinar Series.

Starting 24 October, the first webinar of the series is on breast cancer with Senior Consultant of Medical Oncology at Parkway Cancer Centre, Dr Khoo Kei Siong. The one-hour online seminar, which starts at 2 pm (GMT +8), will begin with a web presentation by Dr. Khoo, followed by a question-and-answer session for the audience to have the opportunity to interact with the doctor.

Around the world, more than 10 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year (World Health Organisation World Cancer Report 2003, International Agency for Research on Cancer). Basic information and facts about the killer disease, how to prevent it and what to do if it does strike, could help save more lives.

It is with this in mind that PCC is launching a series of webinars covering commonly found cancers, types of treatment and prevention over the next six weeks.

- 14 November: "Lung Cancer - Detection and Latest Treatment Methods" by Dr Lim Hong Liang
- 21 November: "Top Three Gynaecological Cancers - What You Should Know" by Dr See Hui Ti
