Investing in the Community: Parkview Christian Center Outreach Ministry

Gives Back

HAINES CITY, Fla., May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Pastor Babers and the Parkview Christian Center are excited to announce the planned September 2008 opening of the new Outreach Ministry building for residents and community members of Haines City and surrounding areas.

The new Outreach Ministry building, located in the heart of the Haines City at the corner of MLK and Avenue C, will be beneficial to residents needing primary health care, food or clothing. "The Outreach Ministry began four years ago as a traveling service -- we would go out into the community and provide nurses, food and clothing. With the new building, these services will be available 6 days a week in a consistent, established location," states Pastor Babers. The building will allow the Outreach Ministry to provide primary health care from registered nurses and doctors, a food pantry, and storage for community members to leave with new clothes.

Members of the Outreach Ministry have raised 50% of the $400,000 needed to open and operate the new building. Along with the commitment from the Outreach Ministry, donations have been received from a number of local businesses and city departments. "The vision of the Outreach Ministry has been well received. Haines Hospital has committed to providing hospital furniture for the new building, WalMart to providing clothing, and the Health Department to providing record keeping," says Pastor Babers. "This is a great cause in the community. We have been able to raise $200,000 in funds for the building and the local Health Department has committed to providing primary care."

The new Outreach building is still in need of volunteers, clothing, food and monetary donations in order to successfully open and operate. For more information about the Outreach Ministry building, program, and Parkview Christian Center, or to donate funds
