Paragon Medsystems Becomes California MedTech

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Paragon Medsystems unveiled their new corporate identity at the MDM West show last week in Anaheim. Effective immediately, the company name will be California MedTech.

The name change comes after more than ten years of providing turnkey development and manufacturing services to the medical electronics sector. "The new name signifies our sole focus on the medtech sector, as well as our ongoing expansion throughout California," comments California MedTech's CEO, Brian Kelleher. "It reflects the culmination of our efforts to become a premier, full-service vendor to both start-ups and established companies," continues Kelleher.

"Over the past year, we completed the build-out of our 30,000 square foot facility in San Diego, established a design center in Silicon Valley, opened an office in Orange County, and fortified our alliances with manufacturing sites in Mexico and China. We now offer everything from concept development to clinical production, as well as verification & validation, compliance testing, finished goods warehousing, fulfillment and service," states Kelleher.

The company's expanded services may fit well with the realities of the new economy. "Companies are being forced to find ways to stretch their funds a lot farther nowadays. By outsourcing to Cal MedTech, our clients can more carefully control their costs," Kelleher comments, adding "we become a variable cost that clients can turn on and turn off, without the ramp-up delays associated with recruiting, and without the overhead associated with internal staffing."

Cal MedTech has developed medical electronics and lab instruments for high-profile medtech companies throughout California, including NuVasive, Ablation Frontiers, Zoll Medical, Peak Surgical, Sequenom, and Becton-Dickinson, as well as firms outside California including Boston Scientific and Smith & Nephew, according to K
