Paragon Benefits, Inc. to roll out Lumina to the Georgia Banker's Insurance Trust

ATLANTA, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Paragon Benefits, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Georgia Bankers Association Insurance Trust (GBAIT), announced today a partnership with Atlanta-based North Star Health, a health care data analytics company. Lumina(TM), North Star Health's revolutionary product, is a cost and care management program that integrates wellness, preventive health, disease management and predictive health functionalities into one platform. Designed for both employer and employee use by separate online portals, the program provides visibility and self-directed management of healthcare costs as well as health and wellbeing.

"Our search for a system that allows maximum flexibility in reporting led us directly to the Lumina(TM) product from North Star Health. Lumina's ability to link the employee health data directly to the employer through a single database platform gives us the ability to report across an entire employer base population, regardless of the number of health plans offered," says Dan Thomason, Chairman and CEO of Paragon Benefits. "The intuitive dashboards and robust reporting capabilities will allow us to analyze claims data in way that will give us a competitive edge in the marketplace with our employer groups."

Cheryl Gunn, President and COO of Paragon Benefits said, "Our goal was to find a system that could give us a better understanding of the overall cost of a diagnosis, and greater insight into management of healthcare expenditures. Lumina not only does this, but also allows us to identify risk factors associated with the mostly costly ICD-9 codes and chronic conditions."

Says Ken Horowitz, CEO of North Star Health, "We are excited about the partnership with Paragon and working with a team who shares our focus on helping to manage healthcare costs for self-funded health plans. Their dynamic and innovative nature makes them a great fit for North Star Health."

Paragon Benefits, Inc. will offer North Star Health's Lumina(TM) to all its employer groups after the roll out to GBAIT in 2009.
