Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie Starts Petition Against Retailers Selling Used Underwear and Lingerie

In light of The Today's Shows hidden camera investigation in March 2010 that exposed large retailers selling used and returned underwear, Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie has started a petition to champion stricter laws around the sale of used underwear and lingerie.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) -- One of the Web’s most popular fine lingerie retailers, Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie, is speaking out against the recent firestorm surrounding the re-sale of used underwear and lingerie from retailers like Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret, and The Gap. The company’s owner, Alicia Vargo, is so disgusted by this practice that she has started an online petition to encourage lawmakers to outlaw this practice altogether.

“We are looking to collect at least 1,000 signatures from women and men who want their voice heard against the unethical practices of lingerie retailers selling used merchandise,” she says.

The petition stems from a hidden camera exposé NBC’s The Today Show did in March 2010 that showed retailers re-tagging and then putting returned and obviously used underwear and lingerie merchandise back on store shelves for sale as if they were new.

Vargo, who is sometimes criticized for her store’s strict return policy, says these dirty practices by popular lingerie retailers have got to stop.

“Our mission is to help women feel nurtured and beautiful. They need to trust that their local lingerie retailer is not putting their health or trust at risk by selling used or returned goods,” she adds.

Vargo says that women should always inspect their underwear and lingerie merchandise before buying. “If you suspect something isn’t right, don’t buy from that store.
