Newly built 80-bed facility doubles US Phase I capacity

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- PRA International, a leading Clinical Research Organization, has announced the grand opening of its expanded, newly built Clinical Pharmacology Center in Lenexa, Kansas. The company will mark the occasion with a special event at the facility on Wednesday, Feb. 27th.

The expansion doubles the Clinical Pharmacology Center's size to 80 beds, with the clinic occupying the entire first floor of PRA's Ridge Drive building near Kansas City. PRA Early Development Services has installed state-of-the-art clinical technologies and various amenities to enhance the comfort of volunteers during their participation in Phase I clinical trials at the facility.

Special guest Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Kerr will join about 200 invited area civic leaders, medical scientists, potential investigators, and PRA top executives and clinic staff members for a 3:00 p.m. official ribbon cutting and opening ceremonies. Kerr will represent the State in recognizing the clinic as a noteworthy addition in Kansas' continuing development as a leader in biosciences research.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, the event will include professionally guided facility tours and entertainment. Clinical Pharmacology Center medical leaders and clinical staff will also be on hand to answer questions during all tours.
