They focused on areas of major interest to PR professionals, including the following:

  • Using a personal brand versus an organization brand
  • Twitter's place in a strategic communications plan
  • Where to tweet
  • Tweeting etiquette
  • Acquainting the CEO with the merits of Twitter
  • Applying Twitter to public relations
  • Measuring micro-blogging effectiveness

The webinar also tied Twitter in to the broader social media picture by citing four tips of online success (being unique, being authentic, being a student, and being a teacher) and six traits of thought leadership (being knowledgeable, aware, interesting, innovative, engaged, and accessible).

There has been considerable positive talk on Twitter regarding Twitter 201, and Burke and Friez are answering Twitter questions on BurrellesLuce's Fresh Ideas blog at http://budurl.com/4wur #prwebinar.
