PHT to Demonstrate Innovative Medical Payment Solution at HIMSS Conference
Date:3/17/2009

CARROLLTON, Texas, March 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Preferred Health Technology Inc. (PHT), a provider of electronic payment and transaction-processing services for the health care industry, will demonstrate its A-Claim(TM) medical payment solution for physicians, hospitals and other health care providers during the 2009 HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Chicago.

PHT will demonstrate A-Claim from booth No. 5037 on the exhibit floor of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, which runs April 4-8 at Chicago's McCormick Place.

PHT's proprietary and innovative A-Claim technology system (www.A-Claim.com) enables health care providers to simply and securely verify insurance eligibility, adjudicate claims, and accept credit, debit or prepaid cards and checks for payment at the time of service, before a patient leaves the hospital or office.

By making a payment arrangement before the patient leaves the hospital or doctor's office, providers can increase the efficiency of their billing process and improve overall collections and cash flow. The system offers patients payment choices and allows them to authorize future payment of outstanding bills, reducing the need to write and mail checks and helping them better manage medical expenses.

A-Claim works with all major insurance plans, and real-time claims adjudication is available with many plans.

"With the shift from managed care programs to consumer-directed health care and high-deductible health plans, it is more important than ever for physicians to secure payment for the patient's share of the bill while the patient is still in the office," said Mary Dees Griffith, PHT's president and COO. "A-Claim is helping physicians streamline billing procedures, lower collection costs, and improve cash flow.

"Health care providers collect only about 50 percent of patient receivables once a patient leaves the office, so A-Claim is becoming a critical revenue cycle management tool for many medical practices."

The HIMSS annual conference is expected to attract about 30,000 attendees, ranking it as one of the largest health care IT and management systems conferences in the world. Attendees participate in education sessions and networking events, in addition to visiting the exhibits.
