Date:3/16/2009

Serialization and Authentication Technology & Services Provider Teams Up with Specialty Print Packaging Materials Company to Offer End-To-End Customized Security Solutions for Multiple Industries

Southborough, MA (PRWEB) March 16, 2009 -- PHARMORX Security™, a leading serialization, authentication, and track and trace technology and services provider, recently entered into a collaboration agreement with MSO Group™, Ltd, a manufacturer of specialty, high-quality labels and cartons, headquartered in Belfast, Ireland. The businesses, which both maintain a focus on product security, consumer protection and brand integrity, have joined forces to provide comprehensive solutions to address multiple industry concerns regarding counterfeiting, diversion and traceability.

The companies have developed integrated solutions for the pharmaceutical, tobacco and beverage industries, among others, which effectively address existing security issues within the supply chain. These new solutions, which combine MSO advanced packaging products with PHARMORX technologies and services, combat counterfeiting, diversion, and return-management issues by offering manufacturers the ability to track their products from distributor to wholesaler, through to the retailer, and in some cases to the consumer.

"By combining our efforts and our technologies with those of MSO, we are able to offer clients multiple layers of security protection, as well as extend our reach creating a two-way security solutions distribution channel," stated PHARMORX president and CEO, Steve Wood. Working with a high-end packaging materials company such as MSO, we're able to provide a whole-product solution, including security assessments, product and brand strategy implementation plans, security label design, as well as printing equipment and packaging material," he added.

PHARMORX and MSO partner to provide serialization for track and trace and diversion control, offering unit-level product identification via variable data printing of 2D barcodes and human-readable codes. The companies also provide authentication solutions for anti-counterfeiting through development of labels and cartons marked with proprietary multi-wavelength taggants and invisible inks for authentication in the field by trading partners, consumers, and law enforcement.

"Working with PHARMORX we're able to provide our customers the most user friendly item code and traceability history," stated MSO Chief Executive Officer, Dominic Walsh. "We reviewed many potential solutions
and selected PHARMORX and the AuthentiTrack solution as it provides the most user friendly and reliable item code traceability history. We are delighted to have teamed up with PHARMORX for this joint venture. I believe that the strengths of both companies are an excellent complement to each other, and know that together we have the solution for product security and brand integrity, to continue the ongoing battle against counterfeiting and diversion control," he added.

PHARMORX Security and MSO will be demonstrating their serialization and authentication solutions at this year's INTERPHEX show in Booth 3261.
