According to Salko, online blood tests should not be substituted for consultation with a physician, but can be used in conjunction with advice from health care providers.

"Once patients receive their results, they can bring them to the physician for further review and advice,” adds Salko. "Online testing simply eliminates the first step in the process and saves the patient time and money. If a patient has risk factors for heart disease and blood tests confirm that, it helps the physician to determine the next steps. In any case, if patients are experiencing symptoms, they should either seek immediate emergency care or contact a physician.”

During the month of February, PERSONALABS™ reduced the price of its healthy heart panels to encourage patients to take an active role in their health care. The Healthy Heart Panel, regularly $199 is reduced to $169 and the Ultimate Healthy Heart panel, regularly $280, is reduced to $238.
