PDX-NHIN and Health Market Science to Jointly Market Standardized Prescriber File
Date:11/13/2007

FORT WORTH, Texas and KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- PDX- NHIN and Health Market Science of Philadelphia, PA, announced today that they have entered into an agreement to jointly market to PDX Pharmacy System users the HMS Prescriber Master File(TM), a database which currently contains over 1.8 million prescriber records, including over one million with National Prescriber Identifiers (NPIs).

Jeff Farris, PDX-NHIN-Rx.com President, said, "We are proud to partner with Health Market Science, the recognized leader in providing prescriber information to the healthcare industry." Matt Reichert, COO of HMS stated, "The initial goal of our relationship is to enable PDX-NHIN customers to streamline their claims adjudication processes by leveraging the accuracy and completeness of our data."

After determining that state license numbers would be required to perform adequate linking to the NPI data and that obtaining this information in a reasonable and timely manner from hundreds of different primary sources was extremely challenging, PDX-NHIN selected HMS as its preferred provider of the prescriber database due to the breadth, depth and accuracy of the HMS Prescriber Master File(TM) and HMS's recognized leadership position in pharmacy.

The HMS Prescriber Master File(TM) will be provided through NHIN in a manner that will allow PDX customers to access this data using PDX Distributed Processing, a feature of the PDX Pharmacy System that allows access to databases in real-time. Pharmacies can then select and add missing prescriber records to their local database or select and update missing information on prescriber records on their local systems.

Pharmacy and PBM customers should contact Craig Ford with HMS for details concerning licensing the HMS Prescriber Master File(TM). As PD
