Over One Million YouTube Views in Six Days - Not a Gag, The Better Marriage Blanket Smells of Sweet Success

A blanket that can actually save your marriage? According to Frank Bibbo, inventor of the Better Marriage Blanket, this simple yet effective product can make a difference by quelling the nighttime odors that has spouses begging for relief.

Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) June 2, 2010 -- Quick … what gets 1,300,000 YouTube views in six days, is mentioned by every American shock jock from Howard Stern on Sirius XM to Jonny Dare on KQRC in Kansas City, has radio talk shows from Holland to Australia asking for interviews, is aired on The Today Show and the BBC’s Graham Norton show on the same day, reported by the Huffington Post and written about in 97 different magazines, websites and blogs that same week?

If you said The Better Marriage Blanket, you would be right. If you have not heard of this wondrous invention, you were either living on the international Space Station for the last month, or don’t have an email account. With more YouTube views in six days than the ubiquitous “Snuggie” has had in its lifetime, The Better Marriage Blanket claims to solve a couple of problems for its owner, the least of which is keeping you warm.

While The Better Marriage Blanket’s inventor, Frank Bibbo of Denver, NY states that his invention will in fact keep you quite warm, the true value of the product lies in its ability to completely stifle the aroma of flatulence. Yes, this blanket will absorb and destroy the smell of that sneaky little silent-but-deadly that a spouse may inadvertently unleash on their partner … hence “The Better Marriage” part of the brand name.

Lined with a layer of activated charcoal, the same kind used by the US military to curb chemicals and gasses deployed in warfare, this blanket is designed to stanch the foulest of odors in the bedroom. As the commercial airing on YouTube and a television near you shows, this problem may be more prevalent than we all may have been willing to admit.

But now starting at a mere $29.95 you can own a piece of chemical technology worthy of the Star Wars generation. A cloaking device in beige or white and in Twin, Queen or King size to meet your own personal need. The perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for bridal couple, Father’s Day, Over the Hill or retirement party, The company that licenses the product, Media Corp of Overland Park, Kansas admits that demand was rapidly outstripping supply and a quick call to the manufacturing plant was necessary.

“We have had numerous successful products before,” said Ed Waldberg, President of Media Corp, “But this one has us working overtime for sure. Other products we have licensed, like the Windshield Wonder or Jupiter Jack have sold millions of units, but what this product has sold in a week is astounding.”

Invented by a retired science teacher, the product was put through the regular paces for testing at Media Corp. “We use a proprietary system called S.T.A.R.S at Media Corp for gauging whether a product will do well on Direct Response Television (DRTV),” said Earl Pardo, VP of Product Sourcing at Media Corp. “As we expected, the product tested above average for DRTV. We also put it on our YouTube channel and the flood gate opened.”

Sara Paxton is Managing partner at Evans Media Group, a Social Media agency in Kansas City. “We see this kind of thing happening more frequently now. Social media picks up on something and it starts to catch fire virally. Then traditional media is drawn in like a moth to the flame and the effect becomes exponential, one feeding the other until critical mass is achieved.

“What used to take months to build with traditional marketing can now occur in just days with social media,” said Paul Evans, President of Evans Media Group. “This is what happened with Media Corp’s Better Marriage Blanket and will happen with other products and brands that figure out how to leverage and harness the power of multiple media. This is something we do everyday, but it is still a mystery to many business owners and companies that have yet to get a handle on social media.”

With The Better Marriage Blanket hitting store shelves by late fall, it promises to be the Christmas or Hanukah gift to get and Media Corp is doing everything in its power to make sure that the needs of suffering spouses are met.

About Media Corp: Media Corp has been in the business of “As Seen on TV” for fifteen years and as such, has seen successes like Windshield Wonder™, Jupiter Jack™ and the Salad Blaster™ go from the drawing board, to the shelves at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Walgreens or Walmart.
