David Ortiz, and his wife Tiffany, to Link Pediatric Critical Care to

Children in New England and the Dominican Republic

BOSTON, Mass., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- David Ortiz and his wife, Tiffany Ortiz, are proud to announce the inaugural David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic in his native Dominican Republic December 4th-7th, 2008. The fund-raising event directly supports the David Ortiz Children's Fund which is dedicated to raising funds for children in New England and the Dominican Republic and providing access to the pediatric care they need to live full and productive lives.

"David and Tiffany's commitment to children is evident in the lifesaving care they have provided to many children in need over the years. This past year alone over 40 children received open heart surgery because of the Ortiz's dedication. We commend the Ortiz's support and recognize this golf tournament will help expand the number of children we are able to help in all critical care aspects," says Susan Rickman, President of the International Hospital for Children (IHC).

"Guests will be supporting an important cause while enjoying luxurious five star amenities in the world's newest luxury destination in the heart of the Caribbean at Sanctuary Cap Cana golf + spa," says Mark Keller, General Manager of Sanctuary Cap Cana golf + spa. "We're proud to host the inaugural David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic at our Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, Punta Espada Golf Club, one of Golf Digest's Top 100 Greatest Courses outside the United States with eight holes that play along the ocean," says Sam Logan, General Manager of Punta Espada Golf Club, a Troon Golf Facility.

"Tiffany and I are excited to host this event supporting The David Ortiz Children's Fund. This fund-raising event gives us the opportunity to have my team mates, friends and corporate sponsors from the world of sports and entertainment, join us in our efforts to raise funds for this cause w
