Orion Health™ Helps Gestion Sanitaria de Mallorca Become the First Electronic Health Record Solution for Community Care in Spain

Gestion Sanitaria de Mallorca (GESMA) has selected Orion Health™ technology to serve as the backbone for its electronic health record (EHR) solution, the first EHR solution to serve the needs of community care in Spain.

Palma, Spain (PRWeb UK) March 2, 2010 -- Gestion Sanitaria de Mallorca (GESMA), which consists of three medical facilities that focus on social-medical issues in Spain, has selected Orion Health™ technology to serve as the backbone for its electronic health record (EHR) solution. This is the first EHR solution to serve the needs of community care in Spain. Deploying Rhapsody® Integration Engine and Concerto® Portal software to GESMA will allow clinicians, nurses, psychiatrists and community care workers to share information on patients and co-develop care plans. This innovative EHR solution provides a single comprehensive view of patient data for users, helps reduce errors by streamlining information transfer, and provides a patient summary page which contains all of the patient’s medical history, procedures performed and tests run.

GESMA focuses on social-medical issues such as mental health, alcohol detoxification and chronic respiratory ailments. In the past, a patient’s clinical records were paper-based which made it difficult to share information across different healthcare facilities and between various providers. Now, with single sign-on, healthcare providers are able to view a patient’s medical history, which includes vital information such as tests that have been run and medications that have been prescribed. After a patient is treated a referral report is created which outlines the patient’s care plan, which all future providers can review. This greatly simplifies the process of providing medical care to patients as well as improves the diagnosis and treatment of future medical issues.

Toni Moragues, IT Manager at GESMA says that Orion Health’s solutions will help transform the way that patients are treated on an ongoing basis.
