Optix on Downer Announces Renovation and Grand Opening Specials
Date:6/16/2013

(PRWEB) June 16, 2013

Optix on Downer is proud to announce special grand opening offers to celebrate the Milwaukee eyecare provider’s recent renovations. Optix has provided optical services to Milwaukee’s east side for over 20 years, and according to owner Brian McGinley, the updated storefront will now provide even more: “Optix has brought a clean, modern look to Downer Avenue with LED lighting, distressed wood flooring, glossy white asymmetrical display shelves and a view of the Milwaukee skyline. The new, high ceilings have vintage-style tin tiles and the store has a bright, open layout to showcase the enormous collection of exclusive European and handmade eyewear collections that have been the Optix signature throughout the years.”

In addition to aesthetic upgrades, the Optix renovation has allowed McGinley to expand the designer frame inventory and introduce new eye exam technology, the optomap Retinal Exam. The optomap Retinal Exam produces an ultra-wide field view of the retina (the back of the eye). While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify the health of a patient’s eye. The new technology can lead to early detection of common diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and even cancer.

A multiple time recipient of “Milwaukee’s Best Eyewear” recognition, Optix on Downer also accepts most insurance plans. The new Optix is also equipped with a state of the art Optical Laboratory that can produce prescription eyewear that same day in many cases.

Optix is located at 2636 N. Downer Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53211. For additional information on Optix and the grand opening sale please call (414) 964-3125. Visit Optix online at http://www.optixondowner.com or on their Facebook page.
