Pharmaceutical Packaging Solutions were presented at the Healthcare Packaging Conference & Workshop in Princeton, New Jersey.
Exton, PA (Vocus) June 14, 2010 -- Leading packaging innovator, Omega Design Corporation, recently hosted two workshops on May 27, 2010 at the Healthcare Packaging Conference & Workshop in Princeton, New Jersey. This event served as the fourth annual educational and networking conference in the state.
Representatives from Omega Design explained how Omega’s pharmaceutical packaging equipment is designed to support the FDA's drug supply chain guidance recommendations in a cost-effective way by using existing print and verify technologies, such as the OmegaTrack Intell-Sort Bottle Unscrambler.
Glenn Siegele, President of Omega Design, also presented “No Container Left Behind: How Early Container Tracking Ensures a Higher Standard of Quality Control.” The presentation and subsequent discussion centered on the risks and benefits of container tracking throughout the entire packaging process.
Packagers must know, and not assume, that any given container belongs on their packaging line. Omega recommends printing a unique code on every bottle at the start of the packaging line so bottles can be tracked and verified at any processing stage. Coding early enables packagers to build a robust brand integrity profile to combat drug counterfeiting, avoid product mix-ups, and streamline recalls or avoid them altogether.
