Omaha School of Massage Therapy Adds Healthcare Programs, Joins Herzing University, and Changes Name

OMAHA, Neb., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The highly regarded massage school now offers healthcare programs and regional accreditation, both attributed to becoming a part of Herzing University in May 2009. The school name has been changed to Omaha School of Massage and Healthcare of Herzing University (OSMHC) to reflect the new curriculum and university integration. The new Medical Assisting program and Medical Billing and Insurance Coding program are both slated to begin classes in September.

"Our roots at the OSMHC stem from the school's sincere desire to educate students and help them build bright futures, and since 1991 we've concentrated on massage therapy programs as our medium to do this," said Campus President, Steve Carper. "Now, we'd like to include in our student body those who have passions in other areas of healthcare. This will also give us the opportunity to help fill the increasing need for well-trained medical professionals in the Omaha community."

It's that commitment to students and the community that caught the attention of Herzing University. "The Omaha School of Massage Therapy stood out as a shining star among educational institutions in Nebraska," said Renee Herzing, President of Herzing University. "Not only has the school been recognized as a leader in massage education, but the student clinic is a favorite among Omaha residents, illustrating the quality of education and service the school provides." She went on to say that the staff and instructors embody the caring and personalized education that Herzing University provides at its other eight U.S. campuses and at its Online division, which offers online degree programs and diplomas. Serving greater Omaha as both a massage therapy school and clinic for nearly two decades, the school is adding a new healthcare facility to house state-of-the-art medical labs and classrooms.
