Olympic Mental Trainer, Dan Vitchoff of PA Hypnosis Center Helps Both Athletes and Sufferers of PTSD

Dan Vitchoff, Mental Training and Performance Coach for Gold Medal Olympians and founder of the PA Hypnosis Center in Pittsburgh, creates programs for dealing with post traumatic stress disorder and finds they are surprisingly similar to providing mental coaching for the stress of competing as a professional athlete.

The closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics will take the athletes and competitors out of the spotlight for a while, but will do little to change the training schedule grind of Olympians and Olympic hopefuls worldwide who have set their sights on the 2012 Olympics in London or the next winter competitions at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.

For Olympic Mental Trainer, Dan Vitchoff, (founder of the PA Hypnosis Center in Pittsburgh, M.S.Ed, Mental Training and Performance Coach and Certified NLP Trainer) the term, “set their sights” is especially appropriate. Vitchoff works with the highly successful USA Shooting Team including Olympic Gold Medalists, Walton Glenn Eller and Vincent Hancock. Using ‘The 33 Method,’ a mental relaxation and conditioning program Vitchoff developed specifically to serve the needs of professional and amateur athletes, Vitchoff helps competitors increase their ability to concentrate and focus under the extreme pressures of competition.

Although Dan Vitchoff’s clients are global, with a homebase at Pittsburgh’s PA Hypnosis Center, it was inevitable that many professional hockey players (some who are Olympic competitors as well) would also turn to him for mental training.
