Octo Consulting Group, an award-winning provider of mission-critical technology solutions and management consulting services to the federal government, has been named one of the 50 Great Places to Work in the Washington, DC area by the Washingtonian Magazine. Winners were chosen after a panel of editors reviewed more than 200 companies and over 13,000 employee surveys. The final determinations relied heavily on the scores given by a company's employees.

This year's 50 winning workplaces were chosen on the basis of such measures as: generous pay and benefits, challenging and interesting work, great work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, financial stability, commitment to charity and community, and the recognition and respect given to employees.
As part of the nominating process, Octo’s employees filled out a survey that outlined their favorite aspects of the company. Some of the perks mentioned by employees were the charitable sponsored donations and the annual company offsite. Octo's leadership also enforces an "open door" policy which fosters greater communication with the leadership of the organization. Overall, Octo's working environment emphasizes on building a company culture that is employee-centric and built by exceptional talent.
This is the eighth time the Washingtonian has chosen the Great Places to Work in the Washington, DC area. The feature dates back to 1999 and is published every other year. Among winners, there is a mix of sizes and industries. The Board of Trade, in conjunction with the Washingtonian, is hosting a breakfast to honor the Great Places to Work on Friday, November 22, from 8:00 to 10:30 am, at the Mayflower Hotel in downtown DC.
