Date:7/22/2009

CUPERTINO, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Trend Micro Inc. (TSE: 4704), announced today that Ochsner Health System, a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty healthcare delivery system, relies on Trend Micro(TM) Enterprise Security, a tightly integrated offering of content security products and services powered by the Trend Micro(TM)Smart Protection Network(TM), to protect all of its critical digital assets.

"Trend Micro technology has helped us do the best we can within our unique environment," said Robert Rodrigue, Network Development, Ochsner Health System. "The products are evolving and new features continually improve our situation. With the move to Trend Micro, our security became more effective. In the past year, very few viruses impacted us and it never went beyond 15 to 20 machines. Outbreaks are quickly identified and controlled by Trend Micro solutions."

With over 10,000 employees, 12,000 PCs, and 400 servers at almost 50 sites, Ochsner has enjoyed growth over recent years, with four new hospitals and several new clinics joining the organization. With an infrastructure shared across all sites that has become indispensable for the delivery of patient care, Ochsner IT relies on a layered security solution to protect its assets. Ochsner Health System relies on Trend Micro OfficeScan(TM) Client/Server Edition for PC and file server protection, Trend Micro(TM) InterScan(TM) Web Security Suite for Web threat protection and Trend Micro(TM) InterScan(TM) Messaging Security Virtual Appliance for Messaging protection.

"Overall, the newest OfficeScan release has been very impressive. Also, the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network adds another important layer to our overall security," said Don Brack, a network administrator at Ochsner Health System. "This in-the-cloud scanning technology is helping us catch more Web threats today. We also appreciate how Trend Micro's in-the-cloud solutions protect our VPN users and mobile workforce with up-to-date threat information even when they are not directly connected to our corporate network."

OfficeScan Client/Server Edition, InterScan Web Security Suite and InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance are part of Trend Micro Enterprise Security - a tightly integrated offering of content security products, services and solutions which is powered by the Smart Protection Network. Trend Micro Enterprise Security delivers immediate protection from emerging threats while greatly reducing the cost and complexity of security management.

The Smart Protection Network is an innovative cloud-client architecture to help enterprises fight the explosion of malicious threats. To shorten the time to protection and reduce the complexity of on-site solutions, a client queries Web, email, and file reputation databases that are correlated in the cloud. Threats are stopped in real time at their source - before they impact local networks and systems.
