Ocean Spray Teams Up With the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women and Its Go Red BetterU Program
Date:6/17/2009

program internally, Ocean Spray employees are encouraged to participate in the 12-week program, and Melanie Harvey, an administrative assistant in Ocean Spray's Agricultural Supply Development department who has been with Ocean Spray for five years, will blog about her experience at www.oceanspray.com.

"I'm inspired by Ocean Spray's commitment to Go Red For Women and excited to embark on a journey that I hope will inspire my family and my extended Ocean Spray family as well," said Melanie, whose decision to participate in Go Red BetterU and blog about her journey is the result of a hereditary and often fatal heart condition shared by her mother and sister.

"I have a lot of living to do," Melanie explains. "I have no control over whether I share this hereditary condition with my mother and sister, but I can control what I eat and how often I exercise, how I manage my cholesterol and blood pressure and not to ignore symptoms of heart disease. The Go Red BetterU program and BetterMe Coaching Tool will teach me to make better choices each day about my health so that I live a long, healthy life not only for me but for my mother, my sister and my daughter. I can't wait to share my story."

For nearly 80 years, Ocean Spray has provided a variety of taste good, good for you options to help families stay healthy. The following products, among others, are certified by the American Heart Association as being low in saturated fat and cholesterol.:
