Norwood Insurance Group Launches New Charity Campaign to Help Provide for Local Family Battling Childhood Leukemia

Norwood Insurance Group, serving families of Dallas County from offices in Irving, TX has announced the latest beneficiary of their ongoing community enrichment program. The current campaign is being extended to continue fundraising for a local family battling childhood leukemia. Young Mason McGaughey faces many more months of treatments, leaving his family in great need of financial assistance. Donations to the family may now be made at:

Just a short time ago, life was wonderful for Patric and Trisha McGaughey and their three beautiful children. Then came a leukemia diagnosis for their youngest, and life changed overnight for the entire family. Trisha left her job in order to provide loving, round-the-clock care for little Mason, and weekly trips to Dallas for vital treatments became the new normal. There is a long road ahead for Mason and his family, and the stress of rapidly escalating medical bills is proving to be a tremendous challenge.

“It’s heart-wrenching to see all the McGaugheys are going through,” said Wes Norwood, owner of Norwood Insurance Group. “I can’t imagine the trying to care for a beloved child while facing the economic uncertainty of how to pay the medical bills. These good people need help with expenses immediately, and that’s why we decided to extend our campaign.”

The caring Norwood team is hard at work promoting the campaign for the McGaughey family through various channels, including featuring the initiative in their monthly magazine. Our Hometown is delivered to thousands of households in Irving and surrounding communities and has reserved a full page to feature Mason’s struggle. The electronic Flipbook version of the magazine’s current issue may be accessed here:

The agency itself has pledged to donate $10 to the McGaughey family for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary, making it so easy for everyone to help. Readers wishing to join Norwood Insurance in supporting this local family in their time of need may view the campaign, recommend a friend and/or make a personal donation here: Contributors may be acknowledged for their donations in a future issue of Our Hometown magazine.

Norwood Insurance Group just recently launched their master charity program, committing to select a new local organization, family or individual every two months to receive their support. Information on past campaigns may be found at: To learn more about the agency, readers may visit:
