SEATTLE, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Northwest Hospital & Medical Center invites women of all ages to attend Girls' Day Out, Saturday, January 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Northgate Mall. The event, sponsored by Northwest Hospital, highlights health, beauty, fashion, home trends and more.
The Northwest Hospital booth will feature free bone density, blood pressure and blood glucose screenings, as well as body mass index (BMI) and waist measurement to provide visitors with realistic information on health, exercise and body weight.
Additionally, Northwest Hospital physicians from a variety of specialties, including plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, urology and more, will be on hand to answer questions about, treatments and prevention of health conditions unique to women.
Two members of Northwest Hospital's medical staff also will present half-hour seminars on the event's main stage. Dr. Julie Carkin, director of osteoporosis services at Northwest Hospital and a founding member of The Seattle Arthritis Clinic, will present "Strong Women, Strong Bones," which will cover osteoporosis prevention and treatment. Dr. Donna Richman, an internist with Sand Point Internists, will present "Healthful Eating: Nutrition Facts You Can Live With," including information about fruits, fats and fiber.
