Northwest Community Hospital Partners with Care Logistics to Establish Logistical Control System™
Date:8/1/2013

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 01, 2013

Northwest Community Hospital has announced a partnership with Care Logistics® to adopt the Hospital Operating System™. The solution combines hospital logistics software, centralized care coordination and real-time performance management to dramatically improve patient throughput and operational efficiency.

"This partnership with Care Logistics is part of our efforts to prepare our organization readiness for the future of healthcare," said Steve Scogna, President and CEO of Northwest Community Hospital. "The Care Logistics engagement will serve as a cornerstone of predictable, reliable hospital operations and performance."

Scogna says Northwest Community Hospital has worked hard to reduce the average length of stay for inpatients and reduce expenses. It seeks permanent operational enhancements such as the Care Logistics solution to ensure long-term success.

"We look forward to working with the Northwest executive and hospital teams to manage length of stay and help establish an operating infrastructure to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness,” said Karl Straub, president of Care Logistics. "We’re honored and excited to work with Northwest Community Hospital to become a model hospital partner and performer in the Midwest."

The partnership with Northwest Community Hospital supports the hospital’s “Aim for Excellence” initiative, a new service delivery model designed to coordinate and improve patient flow throughout the hospital.

Care Logistics has created the first logistical control system to orchestrate patient throughput. Among the results hospitals have achieved by working with Care Logistics:

  • Reduce length of stay by a half day or more
  • Increase net operating margin
  • Defer millions in capital spending by increasing existing capacity
  • Cut preventable harm and associated infection rates in half
