Online training has become a valuable resource for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and occupational therapists. To rely solely on online or software based training potentially compromises a therapist’s defining skill, hands on treatment. Many of the therapy-related tasks performed by a physical therapists involve actually touching a patient. These skills must be taught in an environment that provides proper mentorship and guidance. Online training does not lend itself to learning manual therapy skills. When live hands on training is combined with online or software based training a greater degree of material retention is possible. Responsible CME is a program that combines the best of live hands on training with online and software base training programs.
