Nonin(R) Medical Announces Strategic Relationship With Microsoft and its Microsoft HealthVault Platform

MINNEAPOLIS, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Nonin Medical, Inc. announces the compatibility of its revolutionary Onyx(R) II, Model 9560 fingertip pulse oximeter with Microsoft Corp.'s online consumer health platform, Microsoft HealthVault. The Onyx II 9560 is the first pulse oximeter and the first Bluetooth(R) enabled device to wirelessly transfer monitored SpO2 and pulse rate information to HealthVault -- enabling patients to easily manage, store, share and review their health information with their clinicians and family.

Nonin Medical's strategic relationship with Microsoft and its HealthVault platform, coupled with the recent release of the FDA cleared Onyx(R) II 9560 with Bluetooth(R), is another step to drive the development of interoperable, cross-industry initiatives to simplify healthcare delivery. With this significant advance, patients will be able to monitor and record their oxygen saturation along with other health and fitness records by utilizing HealthVault's wide array of health device and application management tools.
