Non-Profit Healthcare Facilities Invited to Submit Essays in Vector180's 'Worthy Of Wi-Fi' Contest

Winner Will Receive Free Wi-Fi System Installation

LANGHORNE, Pa., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Vector180 wants to find out which non-profit healthcare facility in the region is the most "Worthy of Wi-Fi" and is organizing an essay contest to do so.

The top essay contest winner will receive a free site survey, Wi-Fi system and installation from Vector180 for doing the best job of explaining how his or her facility will benefit from providing wireless Internet for patients and their visitors. Vector180 is a commercial provider of wireless Access to the Internet (Wi-Fi), and specializes in addressing the needs of hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and outpatient service centers.

"It's hard enough being away from home for extended periods of time due to illness or other complications, and not being able to communicate or stay in touch with people through e-mail or the Internet can sometimes add to patients' feelings of isolation," said Bob Kelly, Vice President of Operations for Vector180. "We want to help healthcare facilities to bridge that gap by awarding free service to an organization whose patients truly deserve it."

That's the idea behind Vector180's "Worthy of Wi-Fi" essay contest, which is open to healthcare facilities located in the greater Philadelphia region that are designated as 501(c)(3) organizations. Contestants are required to submit a 500-word essay answering why their facility and patients are "Worthy of Wi-Fi." Essays should include:

  • An explanation of the facility and the type of care it offers to patients
  • How Wi-Fi will benefit the facility's patients and their visitors
  • A description of how the facility would make sure patients and visitors are aware of Wi-Fi service
  • Contact information including the facility's name, Web site and mailing addre
