Newly Published Research Indicates 97% of Apraxic Children Improving with Novel Nutritional Combination
Date:8/13/2009

In September of 2008 SpeechNutrients introduced the supplement NourishLife speak™ which combines omega-3 and vitamin E to provide nutritional support for children with apraxia and speech challenges. A recent study published in the July issue of Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine reported that 181 children with verbal apraxia taking a combination of omega-3 and vitamin E noted significant improvements in speech, communication, behavior, and motor skills.

Lake Forest, IL (PRWEB) August 13, 2009 -- SpeechNutrients' supplement NourishLife speak™ combines omega-3, vitamin E, and other nutrients to provide nutritional support for children with apraxia and related conditions. A recent research study released in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine1 showed a 97% improvement rate of children with verbal apraxia while consuming a nutrition combination of omega-3 and vitamin E. The study followed 187 children with verbal apraxia. Of these families, 181 (97%) reported positive advancements in speech, communication, sensory issues, eye contact, and behavior.

Apraxia is a neurological disorder characterized by the inability to perform purposeful motor movements, despite having the desire and physical ability to perform the movements. Verbal apraxia affects the ability to produce normal sounds needed for speech. Experts believe the number of cases is increasing in this previously rare condition. It is estimated that up to 50% of children with autism spectrum disorders have verbal apraxia, although not all children with apraxia have autism.

The authors of the article show that verbal apraxia is not only a speech disorder
