New e.p.t.(R)/BabyCenter(R) Fertility Report Reveals 70 Percent of Moms Want Tighter Regulation on In-Vitro Fertilization
Date:7/20/2009

  • Drugs are the most common treatment in the case of fertility issues (85 percent) followed by artificial insemination (31 percent), IVF (17 percent) and surgery (15 percent)
  • 97 percent of women actively trying to get pregnant are doing something to help nature along. Most are taking prenatal vitamins (53 percent), having sex every two days or more often (43 percent), using an online ovulation calculator (42 percent), or checking changes in their cervical mucus (40 percent)
  • The majority of BabyCenter((R)) women currently pregnant have taken at least one pregnancy test during the cycle they got pregnant and the results were clearly negative or positive for 91 percent of those surveyed
  • Almost half of the women were with their partner when they received a positive result from a pregnancy test. 44 percent were alone when they received the positive outcome
    • More than half of the new moms took at least one more pregnancy test to confirm the accuracy of the results
  • Women confirm that accuracy is the most important benefit to them when it comes to pregnancy test kit results. From the day of a woman's missed period, both e.p.t((R)) Analog and Digital sticks are over 99 percent accurate in detecting the hCG hormone levels that signal a woman is pregnant.

The makers of e.p.t((R)), the brand women trust most for accurate results in the home pregnancy test category, recommend women wait to test on - or after - the first day of their expected period to ensure this almost perfect level of accuracy.
