New York Doctors Can Receive a No-Cost Solution For Electronic Prescribing In Time For March Deadline

Santa Rosa Beach, FL (PRWEB) February 19, 2015

iPrescribe, a website and service can save New York clinicians up to $1,000 in administrative costs by giving providers a free subscription to their comprehensive electronic prescription service.

On March 27, 2015, all New York providers must issue all of their prescriptions electronically, which is a completely paperless process. Electronic prescriptions are intended to improve patient safety and reduce medical errors that are commonly associated with paper prescriptions. This new requirement is part of the Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing law, which is also intended to limit New Yorkers’ ability to shop around to different pharmacies and providers with a paper script for the best price and to prevent abuse and addiction to prescription painkillers.

The challenge with many electronic prescription services is its cost as providers and their offices must upgrade their electronic medical record systems and functionality in order to meet the electronic prescription deadline of March 27, 2015.
