New Wellness Challenge Mobile App Launched by Health Enhancement Systems

Midland, MI (PRWEB) May 11, 2013

The release of HealthTrails — the fourth new mobile app from Health Enhancement Systems in the last 6 months — gives workplace wellness programs another way to inspire employees toward healthy habits.

“The almost unlimited flexibility to track any health behaviors presented unique challenges for our mobile development team” comments Dean Witherspoon, President and founder of Health Enhancement Systems. “The dynamic capability to be configured uniquely for each client is what sets the HealthTrails mobile app apart from other workplace wellness tools. But we’ve seen such significant health improvement and engagement with the HealthTrails web version; we knew an iPhone and Android version would be a big hit.”

HealthTrails is a customizable wellness challenge that draws on the excitement of learning about new places and people around the world. Participants move virtually along famous trails as they practice healthy habits — experiencing stunning images and vivid descriptions as if they’re right there. Wellness program managers decide what health areas are important for their organization, then the program is configured to match their priorities. Whether it’s fitness, nutrition, stress management, weight control, or others, each organization can address any combination of health practices.

The new HealthTrails mobile app incorporates fun social features including a friendly competition where teammates can see each other’s progress, offer support, and compare how their team is performing in relation to others. “The social component of our wellness challenges is a huge success driver,” notes Witherspoon. “We see overall engagement and success rates double in many organizations. It’s really uplifting to see participants rally around each other and help beginners stick to the program.”

HealthTrails is the fastest-growing product in the company’s history, and is one of a suite of 13 online wellness challenges for fitness, nutrition, weight control, stress management, and family health. “HealthTrails takes all the things we’ve learned from 15 years of online challenges with hundreds of thousands of participants and rolls them up into a program that makes improving health behaviors fun. And the new mobile app makes it even more convenient to track and get immediate feedback on your progress” explains Witherspoon.

Health Enhancement Systems creates employee wellness programs for organizations in North America and throughout the world. More than 20 effective, engaging wellness campaigns have been adopted by over a thousand organizations — serving hundreds of thousands of participants.
